"I can't imagine a more beautiful place to come to terms with the worst possible news" .... "It gives us the chance to breathe and be an ordinary family with our other children I don't know what we would do without it"

When  a parent is told that their child will not live to be an adult, it is the start of an agonising journey. A childhood terminal illness challenges every belief, emotion and dream a parent may have for their special son or daughter.

Hope House Children's Hospices provide practical and emotional support to families facing the pain of losing their precious child.
We are a hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on no matter what time of day or night, so that famlies can make the most of the time they have left.
No charge is ever made to the families who use our service.

The life expectancy of each child who visits Hope House or Ty Gobaith varies from a few weeks or months to a number of years. The conditions and illnesses affecting our children are often obscure, complex and debilitating.

We aim to offer regular periods of respite care as close to home as possible or in the child's own home and we work hard to build a special bond with the whole family so that when times get tough there is always a trusted friendly face to turn to. The needs of the child and their family are our priority, whether it means catering for unique family circumstances or providing a Welsh speaking carer.

Hope House Children's Hospices is a registered charity. We need to raise over £3.8 million annually to ensure the running of both our hospices, Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conway, including the cost of our extensive social work services, counselling and our community nursing service. We receive a limited amount of statutory funding - voluntary income is therefore essential to ensure the continuation of the service.
