Pitch Marks
The Latest Agromomy Report by STRI was overall very positive about the condition of the course.
The report however raised concerns as follows: -
" One of the main blemishes on the putting surface was unrepaired pitch marks. These were detracting from the overall playing quality of the surfaces, especially were grouped together, as they caused the ball to 'bobble and change direction'. They also provide the opportunity for annual meadow grass to ingress, something the greens staff are trying very hard to limit."
How can you help?
It's really quite simple. Repair your Pitch Mark and at least one other, that way we will soon solve the problem.
There is a right way to repair a pitch mark and below is an article from a US greenkeepers magazine which shows how.
Please help to keep your course in tip top condition and get your playing partners to do the same.
