In April 2023, following a ballot of members, the Club was incorporated as Padeswood & Buckley Golf Club Ltd run by a Board of Directors. Each Director is elected for an initial 3-year term of office, at the end of which the Director may seek re-election for a further 3-year term.

Changing from a club format to a limited company provides many benefits for the Club, in particular financial stability and resilience to external change.

Mark Stewart

Board Chairman

Mark has been been a member of Club for over 20 years. He led the Governance Review which led to the transformation of the club to an incorporated limited company. He has substantial experience in General Management, Health and Safety, HR and Chairing and being part of many Company Boards.

Mark's role is to ensure the club pursues its core purposes as set out in its Articles of Association and remains compliant with the Club’s rules, bylaws and all relevant legislation and regulations. He will chair the board and be responsible for its composition, induction and development.

Steve Griffiths

Director Membership and Marketing

Steve has been a member of the club for 30 years. Now retired, he has worked in the UK financial services sector, including posts as Marketing Director for Swinton Insurance and Halifax Bank.

His primary responsibilities are to promote the club to potential visitors, new members and sponsors and to ensure there is effective engagement with existing members. He will also ensure regular review of the Club's website and social media presence and manage the collection and collation of members' views on specific topics of interest.


Stuart Fogerty

Director Course and Greens

Stuart has been Chairman of the Greens for 10 years and will now continue as Director. His previous extensive experience of working on outdoor projects explains his hands-on approach to his role.

He will work with Head Greenkeeper Stuart Mason and his team to maintain and develop our much admired course in the great condition we all enjoy.

Director Events, House and Hospitality

Kate, who is a retired primary school head teacher and our current Lady President, joined the club as a junior in 1971. She has served on Council, Greens, Ladies and Match & Handicap committees over many years.

She will work with the bar and catering teams to ensure that our dining experiences and time spent in the bar are positive and enjoyable for all.
Additionally her role is to ensure that there are Match & Handicap and Social Committees in place and that an Events Team is established to plan, implement and promote special and major club events.

Director Operations and Projects

Martin has been a member of the club since he was a Junior and was Captain in 2016. He has been in business management for over 20 years, with experience in Health & Safety, Production Control, Office Management, Human Resources and Capital Expenditure projects. He is currently Operations Supervisor.

He will be responsible for developing processes for managing the club together such as health & safety and maintenance protocols. He will also oversee other projects which are outside of the remit of other directors.

Mal Owens

Director Finance and Treasurer

Mal has been a member of the club for since 1994 and has served both on the Greens Committee and on the Club Council, latterly as Treasurer. He has spent 40 years in the IT industry as a business systems developer and as a manager.

He will be responsible for overseeing the Club's operating and capital requirements and recommending appropriate actions to the board.

Tony Davies

Club Secretary

Tony was appointed Head Professional at the Club in 2014 having previously been the Professional at Old Padeswood G.C. Professional for 27 years. He also took on the role as Honorary Secretary in 2023.

As Club Secretary he will be central to all operational matters. This includes the coordination and management of the club's staff, enforcing and maintaining the Club’s environmental health & safety obligations and tendering third party contracts.
